My Absolute Fave Mascara

First of all, I want to say that I do not buy high-end mascara. Have I in the past? Yes. Would I ever again? Probably not. I just don't think that mascara is worth the money when drugstores already have so many great options. There are certain things where the quality difference between drugstore and high-end is noticeable (eyeshadow, skin care, foundation, blush) but mascara is not one of them, in my opinion.

With that said, I have 3 mascaras that I am absolutely loving right now, all of which can be purchased at your local drugstore.

The first: Maybelline Full 'N Soft

My absolute fave. I have been a loyal fan of this mascara for going on 10 years. It was the first mascara I ever bought, and I have loved it ever since. It is the perfect "every day" mascara. It opens up your eyelashes, gives lots of volume, but does not make your lashes clumpy or hard. As a bonus, it now contains lash-healthy ingredients such as Vitamin E, win-win! I always have a tube of this on hand.
**Note: This also comes in a waterproof version that I own, it is  okay. Not as great as the original, but as far as waterproof mascaras go (I'm usually not a fan) it is good.

The second: L'Oreal Paris Voluminous Power Volume 24H Mascara, Black Smoke

Love this for my nights out! My lashes are pretty long to begin with, but this mascara gives them tons of volume and oomph, for a smoldering look. The thing I love most about this mascara, specifically in the Black Smoke version, is that the mascara itself is matte, so it changes the whole look of your eye makeup. It's more smoky and sexy. Definitely recommend.

The third and final: L'Oreal Paris Voluminous False Fiber Lashes

Another winner from L'Oreal's Voluminous line. I actually bought this a few months ago, used it a few times and didn't love it. I came back to it recently and I don't know what I was thinking before! I love this formula! It really gives my eyelashes that wide open and full look that I love. Can't go wrong with this one.

For reference, I tend to buy all of my mascara in blackest black, but I do own Maybelline Full 'N Soft in both black and brownish black.

Hope you enjoyed this review, let me know some of your fave mascara in the comments below!

Top 10 Favorite Mac Shadows

Hi loveys! So as you can see from the title, this post is going to be about my Top Ten Favorite Mac Eyeshadows. This is such a hard choice to make! And I just want to throw it out there that this is my top ten of right now. It could totally change at any moment, so if it does I'll be sure to post an update. Below is a picture of all of my current favorites.

I keep all of my Mac eyeshadow in an Inglot Freedom System Palette, (you can view it here: Inglot Freedom System 10 Eye Shadow Round Palette). Unfortunately, I was just on the Inglot USA site and it looks like the round eye shadow palettes are no longer available through their webpage, but I'm sure if you look around you might be able to find one. I also have the 5 Eyeshadow Round and the 20 Eyeshadow Round Inglot Palettes, and I love them, I have put Mac, NYX and Urban Decay shadows in them and they all fit great! I want to note that I did, for a small period of time use the new Mac Pro Palette, and I was not a fan. I had the double sided one with one eyeshadow insert and one blush insert and it was just way too bulky. It didn't fit anywhere.

Anyway, sorry to go off on a tangent! Without further ado, here are my faves:

Sorry if the image quality is weird, still trying to learn how to take the best photos ;)

Top row from L-R: Vanilla, Orb, Bamboo, Soft Brown, Quarry
Bottom row from L-R: Copperplate, Patina, Antiqued, Sketch, Carbon

The ones I use most often are definitely all 5 in top row, along with Patina and Carbon. I also love Antiqued and Sketch in the fall. I use Copperplate fairly often as well, its an awesome crease color.

Lately my go-to has been Orb all over the lid with Vanilla in the inner corner. Then I blend Patina into the outer half of my lid and my crease. If it is nighttime and I am going out, I'll also blend Antiqued, Sketch or Carbon into my outer corner and the outer half of my crease. I've been loving winged eyeliner lately, so I'll usually add a cat-eye and some mascara.

All of my Mac eyeshadows are a dream to work with, and I highly recommend them. I have used a ton of different high-end eyeshadows and bought all sorts of palettes, and Mac is definitely my favorite. The shadows all blend flawlessly, and I just love the customization options. When I buy pre-made palettes I usually end up only liking half of the colors, and with Mac I can choose my own palette so that I only buy colors I love.

Sorry for rambling, hope you enjoyed my post! If you want me to do a further review on each color individually let me know. ;)

The neverending wait for my ECLP...

I am a total newbie to the Erin Condren world, but I was looking for a planner to take with me through my nursing school journey, and when I saw her website I HAD to have one! The Life Planners are totally adorable and the different covers are all so cute! I was so eager to pick one out, and loved all the customization options. I chose her paisley print cover with my own custom colorway. I placed my order for the planner as well as a few add ons.............and then I waited. And waited....and waited..and waited and waited and waited and I am STILL waiting!!!! Is anyone else as impatient as I am?? I feel like a toddler! I placed my order on August 4th and I am OBSESSIVELY checking my order status, probably an unhealthy amount of times per day. Yesterday my status changed to "invoice to print" but then I got an email saying that it changed back to "pending". What a tease!

OMG PLEASE CHANGE TO ANYTHING BUT PENDING SRSLY

I feel like it has been stuck on pending FOR...E...VER. In reality that could be true, or it just could be that I am the most impatient person in the universe...probably a little of both. Anyway, I can't wait to review the planner once I receive it, and post a few pictures. I've heard so many great things about it!
